Ms. Karen Dzyak
Ms. Dzyak has been a part of the Our Lady of Grace community since 1994. She has two children who are graduates of Our Lady of Grace School, one in 2009 and the other in 2012. They have both since graduated from Notre Dame High School. Her son is also a graduate of UCLA, and he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May 2023. Her daughter is working on a degree in Aeronautical and Occupational Safety at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and will graduation in December of this year.
This is her 34th year teaching. After graduating from college, she taught at a Sylvan Learning Center for about 1 year before moving to California from Cincinnati, OH. Once in Los Angeles, she taught for 21 years at an independent school for students with language-based learning differences. She is now in her 12th year at OLG. In the past 34 years, she has taught every level from 3rd through 12th grades. She has taught multiple subjects from general elementary curriculum through high school chemistry and trigonometry.
Ms. Dzyak holds a special education teaching credential as well as a multiple-subject teaching credential with a concentration in mathematics.
When not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her grandson, watching baseball (especially the Dodgers and the Reds), watching football (especially the Steelers), running 5Ks & 10Ks, going to the beach, and spending time reading.
